Fresh Wind

Feel free to examine some Words of Knowledge that have been given to our congregation for our congregation. We will continue to post Words here that have an impact on our culture or otherwise need to be held before us for an extended period of time. These are not in any particular order and will be taken down as we traverse different seasons of life.

The Revelation from Jesus Christ to His Church of Stephenville

Write this letter to the Church of Stephenville.  This is the message from the one who has always held angels in His hand, and never ceased from walking amongst the lampstands on earth.  Nothing is hidden from me and there is no place that I am not present.  I have always had those who have seen me, but seeing Me does not make it so.  I AM and always will be I AM.

I know your works, and I see how you sow in the flesh and expect to reap in the Spirit.  This I have against you, it is your boasting that you have everlasting life, but you are dead.  Like the Pharisees you search the scriptures because in them you think you find eternal life.  But they testify of Me.  You are blind and totally unaware of what you do not see.

Ask of Me, and I will give you sight.  I will generate new desires in you and give you boundless joy in the obedience to My every word.  I the Lord speak and then you see.  Without Me there is only darkness continually.  He that has ears let him hear.

To those who walk in the ways of Enoch, I will bless you.  You will walk knowing my pleasure on earth as it is in heaven.  All authority is given to you to see evil and good.  You will speak clearly My words and establish My dominion on earth.  You will put on the garments of praise and your singing will overcome darkness and advance My kingdom of God.

Stephenville, I have named you.  I will have you.  You will be My city set on a hill. You will be My light to the nations.  Then they will know that I am God and the rewarder of those that faithfully seek Me.

(The word of the LORD to the churches of our city on January 21,2018)

When a man steps forward with a word from The Lord, we better pay attention.  That happened to me yesterday…

Have you ever had a vision or dream of something that you would like to see happen?  I did, when I married David.  I really felt that God would take us to a place where there were beaches to pastor a church.  I learned early on that my vision was not the one that God had for us.
We came to Dallas, Texas for seminary training, we thought we were going back to Pennsylvania in four years. That didn’t happen. A little church in Stephenville, Texas needed a pastor.  There went the beach ministry, BUT God’s vision for us was greater than ours.
Looking back over the last 25 years, we can see His hand in the whole roller coaster ride.  That ride was both scary and exciting.
The way we used to define our ministry was something like, who will come along side of us, believe in us, and support us financially.  In other words me, me, me!  God is redefining us into who can we come along side and validate God’s vision for them, and to give generously in a way that the their thanksgiving would go to God.
It’s the same vision but with a twist – for example, it was like we used be on the east banks of the Jordan River and saying that will be ours someday, Now to have God change our vision and go in to the west banks of the Jordan and conquer the land.
Moses never got to set foot onto that land, because of his disobedience.  He saw it, but died before the Israelites took possession of it.
I don’t want that to happen to me. I want to see the land and possess the land.  I want to see the vision and be a part of the vision. I want to be generous in my love for others, my giving to this body of Christ. Not for myself, but that those who receive can turn and give thanks to God, who gave us everything to begin with.
Read and meditate on this scripture below.  These verses were given to us by our much loved and respected Apostle, Doug White.

In 2 Corinthians 9:10-13, it says:

For God is the one who provides seeds for the farmer and then the bread to eat.  In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous.  And when we take your gifts to those that need them, they will thank God. So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you. Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!”

From Pastor Jarrod on Possibilities

This came from one night when I simply couldn’t sleep. The members of our church were asking some really pressing questions about our church vision as well as practical steps that needed to be addressed within our body. The following is a series of questions I put before the Lord. Some were questions about my own beliefs and some were questions with the congregation in mind. Either way, it answered a lot about the direction of our church and the possibilities that await us. I challenge you to read the word below and join me in dropping the “What if…”   -Jarrod

What If?

What if we went to a Church that valued the revealed word of God? I’m not talking about just the Bible, but the real-time revelation of Jesus Christ. What if we believed that the Pastor sought the face of God all throughout the week? What if we believed that in the seeking he was met by God and radically transformed? What if we believed that he brought this revelation, to the best of his ability, to the ones he cares for most? What if we had ears to hear and could literally feel our hearts burn within us? What if the audible voice of God could be heard in your spirit man as he talked? I’m not talking about a light stirring. I’m talking about a life altering encounter with Jesus. What if we believed he really wanted to do that? What if we let him?

What if the Holy Spirit was able to have full access to every part of our gathering? What if our gathering was more like a celebrating family than a church service? What if instead of getting our prayer request in, we actually felt a desire to pray for one another? What if in praying for one another we became connected at the heart? What if God met us when we prayed for one another? What if he actually spoke into our mundane life, through another believer? What if that beloved believer became a trusted member of your family? What if having the least of these praying for me meant as much as being prayed for by the Pastor?

What if we developed real/tangible relationships outside of Sunday service? What if we had someone to call throughout the week that could literally hear from God and speak living water into our lives? What if we were in relationships with people who could help us remove the hindrance that clogs our own flow of living water? What if our children outpaced us in the things of the Spirit? What if they became our priority for seeing new ground taken in the Spirit because nothing is too big for them? We would be able to watch as they naively broke new ground in the Spirit. What we would never think of would be natural to them. What if the life given through our spiritual family filled us so much that we could extend it to our natural family? What if fathers were set ablaze by the Spirit of the Living God and began to teach their family the things of God. What if women enjoyed the part they play in the family rather than despised it? What if our men loved being filled with the Spirit as much as being filled with any lesser delight.

What if our worship really did touch the heart of God? What if God really did inhabit the praises of his people? What if we were free of our fear of man, and embraced the fear of God? By this I mean, what if we sang, shouted, and danced our way to freedom? What if it didn’t matter if we sang from a hymnal, some contemporary songs, or even if we knew the words? What if our heart was all he was after? What if our worship combined with his Spirit could really overthrow regional principalities?

What if our lives could really be changed? What if the gospel is true? What if there is actually power in the name of Jesus? What if he hasn’t left us?  What if God could break your addiction? What if he could empower you to never go back to drugs, porn, sexual immorality, hate etc.?  What if our freedom from addictions and freedom in life provided a living testimony of a living God? What if our community saw Jesus at work in our lives? What if they saw the love we have for one another? What if they actually could see him manifested in our midst? What if the supernatural really became natural? What if he meant what he said, and he really had the names of 300 people willing to be transformed in the context of relationships? What if we actually still believed prophetic words and ordered our lives accordingly? What if he begins to call these 300? What if some of them come here? What if we were blessed enough to worship with these people? What if this move of God transforms a city? What if the ripple effect of what happens in our town spreads to the metro-plex? What if God is glorified throughout this world, one more time?

What if we became a submissive people? What if instead of being color conscious we became Jesus conscious? What if instead of stating what we like or don’t like about things, we seek the face of God to hear what he likes or doesn’t like about a given issue? What if we surrendered our individual kingdoms for the Kingdom of God? What if we truly were bought at a price? What if we were not our own? What if we were invited to be participants in the greatest love story ever told? What if the Kingdom of God was invading earth through us? What if we actually knew how loved we are and how free we could really be? What if we knew that Jesus was all that matters? What if all of this was being offered right now, to us? What if we drop the what if?

I will tell you what happens if you drop the what if… You begin to live in the reality in which our Father has called us into. No more fear or doubt or condemnation. Welcome to a life filled with faith, hope and love.
